still cannot install the driver because win2000 said it doesn't have m certicified signature.. how did you bypass that processwas testing a dozen or so used pull modems. test pc running a hacked modded win xp pro with win 98se shell. worked good on this pc

ditto... on Trident's site having a problem with their download file.I hope your download works. I hate putting in used stuff without having the oem disks. The OEM sites are always difficult and time consuming to deal with.

I LOOKED FOR THIS DRIVE FOR A LONG TIM TILL I FOUND IT. THE DISKETTE IN THE PACKAGE I BOUGHT WAS RUINED SO I LOOKED ON THE WEB FOR IT. i BOUGHT THIS TRACKBALL OVER A YEAR AGOyou need to use compatability wizard for vista install.

downloaded but it extracts onto my desktop with some files still compressed winzip and when i click setup it install but when i restart it does not work...gives error message...unable to load the software for the scanner or the scanner was not connected properly Ive checked the connection.

This driver worked like a charm. I don't understand the others who had trouble with it...if they knew how to install drivers in the first place then they would NOT have had trouble. This is kindergarten level stuff people If you are old enough to search for drivers then you should be able to install them. DUH

This driver was suggested to me by Compaq to correct a problem with the display on my Compaq 1800XL1 where the display would come up blank with jumbled characters out of sync or simply turn solid white. Sometimes I would even get a BIOS startup error of one long and two short beeps with the display staying blank on startup. I had recently upgraded the computer to Windows XP and to Service Pack 2 when this problem occurred. HPCompaq does not support Windows XP on this machine.I downloaded the driver and attempted to install it. Windows XP blocks the installLexmarkon indicLexmarkng that the currently loaded driver for the ATI Rage Mobility internal card is the most recent. That driver shows up as Version 5 while this driver shows a Version 6 in the documentLexmarkon files. Nonetheless Windows XP will not update from the default driver.After two weeks of frustrLexmarkon with this situLexmarkon I stumbled upon the solution last night. Go to Settings Control Panel Display. Select the Settings Tab select Advanced select the Troubleshooting tab across the top of the window remove the check mark from the field titled quotEnable Write Combiningquot which is below the quotHardware AccelerLexmarkonquot slider.Everything then works fine. Note that there was no reference to this issue on either the HPCompaq or Microsoft web sites and there where no troubleshooting guides that directed me to this issue. Also note that the problem is in the settings for the display and not for the video carddisplay driver. Apparently the problem has something to do with DirectX.Windows XP performs flawlessly on the Compaq Presario 1800XL1 once this small change is made from the default settings.
