I lost a few vxd files after the install. I don't know if it's related.It affects a .dll file that works with MS Network app.So far I'm happy because it seems to be the right driver.

Driver will not work.Better isInstall origional software.Connect scanner.Xp will recognise usb device.choose install software automatic.Xp starts internal handling.Xp offers four options for driver programs choose windows 2000.

I had to unzip to a temp folder CWindowstemp amp plugged the scanner usb lead into the laptop amp the scanner then when windows picked up the device I pointed the install driver wizard to the temp location of the files CWindowstemp.It's basic not fancy like the CanoScan Toolbox I had Before I did the factory restore After 1 year my M735 1.70A GHz processor was feeling like a 486 SX25 forgetting to backup all my data first. Whoops Apart from anything else 6 years of committee work lost.I will try to get the toolbox back asap from somewhere Canon website.It may be basic but at least it does work amp it has got me out of a fix for now.Recommended.
