blue screen after I install this driver

Install was successful but when I changed my resolution to 800x600 my computer kicked back from a nice 24 bit to a dull 16 bit resolution. Why Any help appreciated.

I found some important info on getting the scanner to work with XP at the following sitehttpsupport.Gigabyte.co.uktechnoteswinxp6400.htmI used the driver suggested here but I did have to follow the instructions at the URL above before it worked. In the inf directory on my system the file happened to be oem15.inf. I removed it and chose 'reinstall driver' as suggested. During that process I manually installed the driver from the disk2 folder where i extracted the driver from this site. Even the copy utility works
