It works for the HP Pavillion 8575 with Windows 2000 Installed. It installs the modemsoundcard and other PCI peripherals in the package.

The writing on my sound card's chip Audio Excel CMI8338APCI. The driver from this site worked with Windows 98 SE following the installation instructions on this site. If this is of any interest Red Hat Linux 7 has probed this sound card and installed its own drivers and works. Thank you for the driver.

This does not seem to be the full driver but a driver update. I DID find this on HP's site before I tried this file and it still didn't help. Thanks anyway.

It worked for me. I made a folder under the root called Sound. I then copied unzipped and extracted that file to that folder. I then went into Device Manager and selected Multimedia. I selected Reinstall Driver and selected Display a List. From there I pointed to the Sound folder and to the A1.INF file in particular. It then made me select which sound card I had. I think I selected ESS Sound Monitor WWF or something like that. Anyway it worked for me good luck.

This driver does not work with win98. It is fake. Do not download itDriverguide should take this drive out of the site.Try to download VIAAC97.zip submitted by SavagePenguin because it worked fine with win98 in my ASAKI motherboard. Joe.
