lots of sony desktops this device and it really seems to be hit or miss with whether the driver works on the computer or not. running about 5050 atm and the latest sony is reporting the file is corrupt and very outdated.

Be sure to turn down or unplugh the system microphone first before your machine has rebooted...It will fix that too

Yeah this is the driver you want if you have a 'funny chipset' motherboard like me. Why should I go to the soundblaster 'official website' and spend ages downloading a 10meg file just to get sound on my PCBolox to that. This driver is the business. Everything you need and nothing you dont need. I have a 512k conection now so I could STILL download the 10 Megabyte file from Atech but I still dont see the point. I am here again to download this driver again and it works.10 Points indeed and we should all learn by example. 5 STARS
