About the No Dial Tone.Wellthere are three types of Conexant modems Conexant Soft56K RTADConexant Soft56K FaxPCI Data ModemConexant Soft56K PCI MOdemif you use the wrong driver it will give you a no dial tone error...

After trying a variety of drivers this appears to work fine.The only confussion is I have a lexmark 4039 10 plus mono laser.This is not present on the choices list.
