I used this driver and it worked as it should. Personally I have never had any trouble with any of the drivers from this site start way back in the early nineties. It was easier to get drivers then not so many screens. But yeah if you need a driver this site is a good starting place....

I'm reinstalling Windows SE on a Compaq Presario Model 7594. The Intel 810E video drivers work well but the ESS sound drivers don't. As usual Compaq cobbled up the works so that the normal ESS 1888 drivers won't work. I tried several drivers from the HPCompaq web site and none worked. This is the only one that worked well right quotout of the box.quot The installRealtekon is a little quothinquiequot because that's the way Compaq quotSoft Paq'squot all are. You have to execute the file first to get the quotsetup.exequot file. It might have been better to upload quotsetup.exequot instead of the quotsp8485.exequot file.
