The driver for my modem was VERY hard to find. It is a generic pcmodem with no manufacturer name just a model number HP56SU. If however you type that model number into google you receive no hits. Also employing the FCC websit to search for its FCC ID BATMM00BMS560PCI but it revealed nothing. It is as if this modem does not exist.However by viewing the device information in Device Manager I was able to identify the maker of this card via the PCI Vendor and device number PCIVEN134DampDEV1289ampSUBSYS1002134DampREV04 by which I was able to determine the manufacturer is PCTel. There is also the designation HSP688 is on the chipset. Armed with all that information I found this driver which appeared that it would work. I downloaded and unzipped the driver file and then read the ini file associated with this driver among theh list of devices that work with this driver is vendor 134D and device 1289 which fit the PCI VEN and DEV above. I am happy to say this driver worked nicely.I include the details above in case anyone else gets one of these same generic modems. This modem came with a Computer bought from Outpost.com so I figure many other people will have it. I hope this others will find this information valuable.
