It was jus not the right driver for my device which was a Aopen FM56PM modem. The system didn't recognized it. I had to open the machine and read what is on the piece of hardware itself.The driver detecting program didn't recognize it either. It took it as a Conexant device. Conexant just manufactured one component of the Aopen modem.

I could not get this driver to work.My guess is that maybe you can only use this driver if you have your CPQ software utilities still on your hard drive and active like foxbyte says below.But guess what I went to the Compaq website and got ALL the drivers I need for my Compaq Presario audio display modem etc etc.They ALL worked greatGo to www29.Speedcom.comfalcosplist.aspYou can also order a CD from Compaq and receive by mail ALL the Presario drivers you need on one CD. This definitely restored a little faith in Compaq for meTom happy to have a working computer again

I'm in IT and setting up machines is second nature to me. Legacy and end of life products are always a big pain however and the ATI Rage 128 VR AGP is no exception apparently. The Rage driver pack from ATI gave me a nonfunctional display adapter three times in a row so I eventually found my way here. Aside from a quirky old installer in which you manually click through the disk images and a lack of an quotoverwrite allquot option for copying the files the installer was smooth easy to run use and clean up after.
